Part of staying healthy depends on your body’s ability to stay regular. As many know this can be a little more difficult than it may seem. However, taking laxatives can have adverse effects on your health. Finding natural cures for constipation is a great way to achieve balance as well as comfort.

Your diet might be the culprit in this scenario. Adding fresh fruits and vegetables to your daily intake of food is a good start and these foods are the most natural cures for constipation. Following are some examples of foods that you can add to your diet to help move things along.

Fruits are wonderful natural cures for constipation. However, you don’t have to hold your nose while forcing down prunes or prune juice in order to find relief. There are plenty of other options and you might even find some that are more pleasing than snacks like chips and candies.

Grapes are lovely little pieces of fruit that offer great roughage for your digestive system. The skins on the grapes are natural cures for constipation that work well and taste fantastic. If you have a sweet tooth then grapes make the perfect snack.

Apples are great natural cures for constipation if prepared correctly. I found a great trick to maximize the effects of this fruit on the digestive system. Just core the apple and sprinkle some brown sugar on the fruit. Put the whole cored apple in the over and bake at about 350 degrees for 20 minutes or so.

The apple recipe is great because it makes for a nice dessert but it is a natural cure for constipation, too. It’s really important to leave the skin on the fruit because this is where most of the fiber is in the apple. This tastes almost as good as an apple pie but with relatively little calories and all the benefits of the fruit.

Other natural cures for constipation are a little different. Some suggest that you can find relief by adding a tablespoon of corn syrup in water. However, I think that the water is more important than the corn syrup. If you have at least 6 glasses of water each day, you are less likely to have constipation.

Some swear by adding honey to milk. They suggest having two glasses of this concoction each day as one of the most effective the cures for constipation. If these suggestions don’t do the trick, you probably want to consult your physician. He might have other ideas for you to try.
